Hard to believe that three years ago, I wrote my first post. Not going to lie, every time I post, I’m always a little nervous. But so far the community has been so supportive, and I have you all to thank for it!
Looking back at my Two Year Blogiversary post, I’m quite happy with what I was able to accomplish. I changed the theme of the blog to be a supported, more streamlined theme. I cut back on posting to make room for other things. Although I haven’t posted every 2-4 weeks, I’m happy with the pacing that I have and have come to realize that although best SEO practice is to keep to a certain schedule, I’m really doing this just for fun. I’ve played around with layouts and am pretty happy with what I’ve created so far.
With this past year being so crazy, I have a lot to reflect on:
- We bought and moved into a new house and are renting out our old house to a friend
- We are surviving the COVID-19 pandemic (I finished my 2nd Pfizer shot a couple of weeks ago!)
- I am volunteering my science expertise to a COVID-19 lab. It feels really good contributing to the efforts
- I fully embraced my freelancing role at Biofluent Communications and have enjoyed doing science writing for different companies
- I taught my first remote course at UC Irvine and got some really good feedback from the students
- We’ve been preparing for Baby #2! Really nervous, but also super excited!
- We designed and are currently implementing our edible garden in both the front and back yards.
- We’ve been able to spend so much more time with Booker – silver linings for these times.
Speaking of Booker, here’s what he looks like now:
Such a cute kid.
Anyway, thanks for another year of support. I really appreciate it!
Not to mention about survive 2 times evacuation of Californis wide fire! Looking forward to read more of your life..👍
Two evacuations in such a short time, too! Thanks!
