10 Things I Learned from My Newborn, Booker!

On March 22nd, 2019 at 0518, my son, Booker, was born. It seems like only yesterday I wrote him his first letter. Minhan was such a trooper! We got to the hospital at 0230 and she started pushing at 0500 and Booker was out at 0518. Such a champ. Here’s a photo of the three of us in the hospital:

Anyway, since then, I’ve spent almost every waking moment with him and have learned a lot about life. Here are my top 10:

  1. There’s a new kind of love that only a parent can feel.
  2. Parental instincts are real.
  3. Life is a struggle.
  4. Enjoy every moment – time can fly too fast.
  5. Sleep is never overrated.
  6. The best way to communicate is not necessarily with words.
  7. A little bit of patience goes a long way.
  8. Don’t sweat the little things.
  9. Sometimes the best way to learn is just by trying things out. Classes and books can only guide so much.
  10. Effective teamwork can make seemingly overwhelming situations manageable.

Welcome to the world, Booker! I suppose I should try my hand at some portrait photography now!
