On March 22nd, 2019 at 0518, my son, Booker, was born. It seems like only yesterday I wrote him his first letter. Minhan was such a trooper! We got to the hospital at 0230 and she started pushing at 0500 and Booker was out at 0518. Such a champ. Here’s a photo of the three of us in the hospital:
Anyway, since then, I’ve spent almost every waking moment with him and have learned a lot about life. Here are my top 10:
- There’s a new kind of love that only a parent can feel.
- Parental instincts are real.
- Life is a struggle.
- Enjoy every moment – time can fly too fast.
- Sleep is never overrated.
- The best way to communicate is not necessarily with words.
- A little bit of patience goes a long way.
- Don’t sweat the little things.
- Sometimes the best way to learn is just by trying things out. Classes and books can only guide so much.
- Effective teamwork can make seemingly overwhelming situations manageable.
Welcome to the world, Booker! I suppose I should try my hand at some portrait photography now!
